U.S. Air Force Veteran Retired From Bell South After 32 Years

Robert “Bob” E. Richie, Sr., 85, of Signal Mountain, passed away at Morning Pointe of Hixson, on Saturday, March 10, 2018.

Bob was a native of Chattanooga and had lived on Signal Mountain for over 30 years.  Bob was a loving husband, father, and devoted grandfather.  He served our country in the Air Force during the Korean War. Bob worked with South Central Bell and retired from Bell South after 32 years of service.  He was a Mason and member of the Alhambra Shrine.    

He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Frances Virginia Costello Richie; parents, Elva Wiggins and Cecil Richie.   

Bob will be greatly missed by those who are left to cherish his memory, including his son, Robert Eugene (Mary Jo) Richie, Jr.; daughter, Pamela Richie (Geoff) Lee; grandchildren, Lauren Richie, Taylor (Ben) Elliott.   

The family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m. on Friday, March 16, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

A graveside service will follow at 3 p.m. on Friday at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

The family would like to give special thanks for the care given at both Morning Pointe of Hixson Assisted Living and Alexian Village.
