Charlotte Jordan To Turn 109 Years Old On March 15

Mrs. Charlotte Keelin Jordan was born on March 15, 1909 in Chattanooga.  She was married to the late James Jordan for 60 plus years.

She was a teacher for the Hamilton County School System for 45 years and taught at Summit, Harrison and Ooltewah Elementary Schools. She is a member of Tennessee Teacher’s Association. Mrs. Jordan matriculated at St. Elmo Elementary, Howard High School in 1928. She is the oldest living graduate of Howard High School. She received her bachelor’s degree from Tennessee State University.

She has one daughter, Norma (Mack) Roland and two grandsons, Thomas Roland and Bobby (Kelly) Brooks.

Mrs. Jordan is the oldest member of Field’s Chapel Church in Summit.  She is a former Sunday school teacher and served on the Missionary Society.  She is still known for her patience and expertise as a teacher, has an outstanding personality and continues to exhibit care and concern for others.
