Korean War Veteran Retired From DuPont After 43 Years

Stanley Ashley Jackson, 87, of Hixson, went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 12, 2018.

He was a 1948 graduate of Red Bank High School. Stanley served his country in the Army in the Korean War. He retired from DuPont after working there for 43 years. Stanley was a member of Falling Water Baptist Church for 80 years. He served as a deacon and was a member of The Men’s Bible Class.

Stanley was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Sallie Ashley Jackson; brothers, George, Fred, Terrell, Clark, Marvin and sister, Mary. 

Stanley is survived by his wife of 65 years, Jean Wilson Jackson; daughters, Susan (Casey) Stuart and Kim (Bill) Martin; sister, Martha Carter; granddaughters, Emily (Danny) Horn, Rachel-Ashley (Mario) Ragghianti, Sallie Ashley Martin and Addie Martin; great-grandchildren, Madeliene and Carson Horn; and several loved nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 14, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.

A Celebration of Life service for Stanley will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, at Falling Water Baptist Church, 523 Roberts Mill Road, Hixson, Tn., with Reverend Tommy Taylor officiating.  Burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery. The Men’s Bible Class and Red Bank Lion’s Club will serve as honorary pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Stanley’s name to Falling Water Baptist Church or The Gideon’s International.
