Baylor, East Ridge Earn Soccer Tournament Wins

Baylor earned two wins on Saturday in the Baylor Soccer Tournament.  

BAYLOR 5 HARDIN VALLEY 2  Eemeli Makela, Christian Stophel and Matheus Maia scored first half goals to lead Baylor to a 5-2 win over Hardin Valley.  John Musick and one assist in the first half and Keegan Weekley had two.   

In the second half, Makela and Musick scored goals for Baylor.  
 
Baylor out shot Hardin Valley 17-3.  Mats Pokela and Henry Hooks had one save for Baylor

BAYLOR 2 SOUTHWEST WHITFIELD 0  In the second game of the day, Evan Race scored an early goal assissted by John Musick and Eemeli Makela scored on a penalty kick.  The 2-0 lead would stand for the rest of the match.  

Baylor had a 11-3 advantage on shots. Henry Hooks had one save,. 

"I am very proud of us this weekend," Baylor head coach Curtis Blair said. "We played some very good soccer and created some great chances. The guys responded well after our lost to Whitefield Academy on Friday. I thought we came out and played our style of soccer against two very good and well coached teams. Now we get some time off and a chance to get our legs back under us and get ready for the season after spring break."

Baylor improves to 4-1 overall. 

East Ridge earned a tie and a win on Saturday in the Soddy-Daisy tournament giving them a second place finish.  

EAST RIDGE 0 CSTHEA 0  East Ridge out shot the home school team 12-3 but could not find the net.

EAST RIDGE 5 TYNER ! Rijad Kazic had two goals and one assist in their 5-1 win over Tyner.  Adam Adem, Bryan Alonzo and Erik Lope also had goals.   Enrique Simental had Tyner's goal on a penalty kick.   Pedro Bautista had four saves for East Ridge.   The Pioneers were 2-0-1 in the tournament and are now 4-0-1 overall.
