The Ladies of Lee
The Ladies of Lee will present its spring concert on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at The Lee University Chapel.
This year’s program, “Your Kingdom Come,” will feature a variety of sacred music, including gospel songs, spirituals, traditional hymns, and modern worship songs. A new piece by Lee student Kadison Beavers will also be performed.
Lee student conductors Brittany Martin and Katie Shea will direct pieces of the program.
“This concert will be a special one for the choir,” said Dr. Jonathan Rodgers, director of Ladies. “We would especially like to invite any and all alumni of the Ladies of Lee to attend and share in this special evening as I conclude my last season with Ladies.”
After this semester, Dr. Rodgers plans a reluctant departure from Lee to accept a full-time music ministry position in Alabama.
Ladies of Lee tours throughout the United States under the direction of Dr. Rodgers and recently went to India to serve and perform. The group is currently preparing to go to Costa Rica for two weeks in May to sing and serve in missions.
Tuesday’s concert is free, non-ticketed, and open to the public.
