Tommy David Townsend
Tommy David Townsend, 81, passed away March 25, 2018. He retired from U.S. Pipe and Foundry, Inc. , and previously attended Antioch Primitive Baptist, where he was a trustee, deacon and a member of the male chorus.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnnie Mae White and Charlie Townsend; brothers, Charlie, Jesse and Roosevelt; sisters, Dora Mae and Beulah Pearl.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving and faithful wife, Catherine Townsend, his daughter Sharon Montgomery, his son Tommy David (Freda) Townsend, of Chattanooga, his granddaughters Antionette Townsend and Catherine Montgomery, his grandson, Tommy (Artieka) Townsend, III of Atlanta, GA, and his great-granddaughters Camarri, Trinity, Kennedy and Cidney Arie. He also leaves his sister Ethel Mae Billups, favorite sister-in-law Diana Townsend, special cousins Barbara and William, nieces and nephews LaBron, Bennie (Zsa Zsa), Ollie Isom, and Annie and host of great-nieces, great-nephews, other family members and friends.
The body will lie in state after 12 noon Tuesday, March 27, 2018 and the family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Tuesday evening. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 28, in the funeral home chapel. Interment is Lakewood Memory Gardens East.
