Police said a man who attempted robbing a pharmacy in East Ridge, then carried out two holdups in Chattanooga before entering a resident's house has been identified as Nathan Lebron Odum Jr.

Odum, 20, was charged in East Ridge with aggravated robbery.

East Ridge Police said on Monday morning they were dispatched to Rapid RX on Ringgold Road. The suspect had fled on food.

He was described as a black male, around 6' tall, wearing faded blue jeans, glasses and a beanie. He was wearing an overcoat with what appeared to be a NAPA Auto patch on the back.

He passed a note to the pharmacist demanding medication. He claimed he had a gun and would use it. The clerk began trying to talk him out of the robbery. Police said he finally became tired and left.

Officers who reviewed video from a nearby Exxon station said the man could be seen leaving in a gold Chevy Impala traveling north on Moore Road. A BOLO was placed for the vehicle.

East Ridge Police were notified a short time later that the man had carried out two robberies in Chattanooga. Police tried to stop the gold Impala at one point, but it got away. It was found abandoned near Water St.

A woman living on Water Street called police saying a man had broken into her home and was still inside.

Odum was then taken into custody.

Police said a beanie was found near where the vehicle was abandoned.

The note used in the East Ridge robbery was found inside the car.

Chattanooga Police said the Real Time Intelligence Center helped solve the cases.

Chattanooga Police said, "At 10:44 a.m. Chattanooga Police respond to a business robbery at 5210 Brainerd Rd (Metro PCS). The suspect, who implied that he was armed, demanded money from the clerk and took merchandise from the store.

"As investigators responded to the scene, another robbery was being reported at 3536 Cummings Hwy (T-Mobile).

"Witness accounts and evidence were similar in both incidents and investigators were able to determine that both incidents were related.

"Investigators accessed the public safety cameras from the Real Time Intelligence Center (RTIC) which immediately provided critical information on the suspect's location. Neighborhood Policing Officers in the Adam South district located the suspect vehicle on Water Street using the information gathered from the investigation.

"The suspect exited his vehicle and fled from police, entering a residence which was occupied. Officers surrounded the residence and were able to take the suspect into custody without incident.

"The suspect's vehicle, a gold Chevy Impala, had been reported stolen on Sunday.

"The suspect is charged with two counts of aggravated robbery and theft of property over $10,000. Additional charges are pending.

"Members of the Robbery Unit, Burglary Unit, RTIC team as well as officers in Neighborhood Policing worked together to apprehend the suspect in a short amount of time."
