Raymond Harden, Jr.
Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded at approximately 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday, to North Dent Road near the intersection of Thrasher Pike on a report that a child had been allegedly assaulted.
Initial reports indicate that Raymond Harden, Jr. was sitting in a vehicle near the intersection of North Dent Road and Thrasher Pike with his girlfriend and her daughter, six, and his son, three. At some point, an altercation took place while waiting to meet the biological mother of his son.
During the altercation, Harden allegedly threw his cell phone hitting his son in the eye and injuring him.
As the biological mother pulled up and approached the car, Harden tossed his son through the window while the vehicle was not in motion.
According to witnesses nearby, Harden then spun off nearly running the child over with the vehicle in the process and travelled south on north Dent Road.
Deputies located Harden nearby at his residence on Moses Road and he was taken into custody without incident.
Harden’s son was transported to a local hospital with what appear to be non-life threatening injuries.
After Harden was taken into custody, his girlfriend stated that he had also elbowed her daughter in the chin at some point prior to the initial incident involving his son.
Harden was charged with one count of aggravated child abuse and one count of simple child abuse. He is currently awaiting booking at the Hamilton County Jail.
