Barbara June Templeton Jones, born November 14, 1936, left her earthly home to join her Lord and Savior in her Heavenly home on March 1, 2018. She was surrounded by family at the time of her home going.

Barbara attended Carson Newman College, married and lovingly adopted two children with her husband Sam Jones. She resided in Chattanooga, until her divorce in 1983 then relocated to Atlanta. She retired from Kraft Foods and after battling declining health, she came back to Chattanooga in 2017.

She was involved in many different Christian ministries throughout her lifetime. She was a loving wife and mother and was affectionately known as 'Mama Bear' to the neighborhood kids and members in her young adult ministry. She loved to cook, read and enjoy time spent with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leslie H. Templeton and Goldie Brogdon, and her siblings, Leslie Jr., James Templeton and Thelma Washburn.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her sister, Betty Stewart, Chattanooga, daughter, Thelma (Jim) Wells, Harrison, daughter Renee (Jeff) Eldridge, Ooltewah, son David (Lana) Jones, Buford, Ga., granddaughter, Heather Naomi Dedmon, Chattanooga, grandsons, Joshua and Zachary Jones, Buford, Ga., nephews, Jim (Diane) Templeton, Bob Templeton and Lee Templeton, all of Chattanooga, special friends, Peggy Blevins, Chattanooga, and Milly Hammett, of Atlanta.

Barbara fought a lengthy and valiant battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis.

She was a woman of great faith and love for Jesus Christ and a woman of great strength. She was known for her beautiful smile and her cheerful spirit. That spirit affected all those who came in contact  with her, even until the end. She loved to make people smile.

We have blessed assurance that she is rejoicing in her new healthy body in Heaven.

Special thanks to Standifer Place Assisted Living's staff (especially Nikki Sutton, LPN and her staff) for making last year a happy time for her.

Thank you to Hearth Hospice, Chattanooga, for making her last days comfortable. You were our heroes in a very difficult time.

We love you Momma and will cherish the memories and valuable life lessons you taught us. We honor you with this final tribute until we meet again in Heaven.
