Helton, Thomas "Tommy" Ray (Ringgold)

Thomas “Tommy” Ray Helton, 69, of Ringgold, born January 4, 1949, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, March 4, 2018, and to greet his precious son Daniel, whom preceded him in death in 2005.

Tommy has long awaited to meet his Savior and to be reunited with his beloved son. Tommy was a long standing member of Quitman Lodge #106 of Ringgold. He retired from Dooley Chemical after 30 years of employment. Tommy was of the Baptist faith and attended Hitchin’ Post for Christ.

The people who knew and loved him will miss his laugh and sense of humor. He often said, “my day is not complete unless I have made someone laugh.”

He was preceded in death by his son, Daniel Helton; father, Clark Helton; mother, Minnie Lou Johnson Gordy; sisters, Mary Evelyn McIntosh and Willie Ruth Ivey; and brothers, Lebron Cummings and Johnny Helton.

He is survived by his loving and devoted sister, Rosa “Dodie” (Richard) Gordy and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 7 in the funeral home chapel, with Bro. David Turner officiating. Interment will follow at Arnold Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. and Wednesday from 11 a.m. until funeral time at the funeral home.

Arrangements are by Wilson Funeral Home Wallis-Stewart Chapel Ringgold.

Kathy Jane Moore, age 64, passed away March 21, 2018. She worked as an accountant with Siskin Hospital. She retired in 2015 after 25 years of service. Edward “Ray” Raymond Pentecost Sr., 73, of Ringgold, passed away Monday, March 19, 2018. A native of Nashville, he has lived in the North Georgia area for the past 39 years and was of the Catholic faith.
