James Edward Floyd, 74, of Ringgold, passed away Monday, March 5, 2018. Born Nov. 14, 1943 in LaFayette, to many he was known as Jimmy or Snowball. A graduate of LaFayette High School, he retired as a supervisor from Shop Rite Supermarkets, after more than 40 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Wiley Floyd and Lillian Roach Floyd; and his brother, William Ernest Floyd.

Survivors include his loving wife of 40 years, Eddie Madewell Floyd, Ringgold; daughters, Allison Lynn Floyd (Bill Stewart), Athens, Ga. and Meridith Suzanne Davis (Martin Davis), Colbert, Ga.; sisters, Bettie Davis, Dayton, Tn., Gail Pritchard, Chattanooga and Joyce Smith, LaFayette; and grandchildren, Dylan and Daniel Davis.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel, with Rev. Ben Cathey of Ringgold UMC officiating.

Sheriff Hammond Says $4 Million Needed To Put SROs In All Hamilton County Schools
