Ken Smith
The City Council on Tuesday night chose Ken Smith as the new chair and Erskine Oglesby as vice chair.
Councilman Smith, from Hixson's District 3, previously was vice chair.
He was nominated by Councilman Chip Henderson.
Jerry Mitchell served for the prior year as chair.
The new council leader named Carol Berz to lead the important finance committee. Darrin Ledford will continue to head planning and zoning.
Also at the session, Beverly Moultrie was introduced as the new human resources administrator.
Vicki Haley, a longtime city finance official, is retiring.
