Eva Mae Foltz Chase
Eva Mae Foltz Chase, 92, of Smyrna, Georgia, and a former Chattanooga resident, joined the heavenly angel choir of Wednesday, March 7, 2018.
A resident of Chattanooga, Tennessee, from 1969-2009, Mrs. Chase was a teacher in the Chattanooga Public School System, 1970-1986, where she was choral music teacher at Brainerd Junior High School and retired as an English teacher from City High School. After retirement, she was a volunteer at Teen Challenge and recognized as Volunteer of the Year in 1993. Mrs. Chase served along side her husband, Norman Chase, as soloist and choral director at Central Baptist Church, Woodmore and First Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Brainerd. Mrs. Chase was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who cared deeply for her family and was very actively involved in their lives.
She is survived by her husband, Norman Chase, Smyrna, Ga., daughter, Christa Joy Chase, Mableton, Ga., daughter, Cathy Chase Porter, Red Bank, son Wayne (Sandi) Chase, Roswell, Ga., granddaughter, Amanda (Harley) Freeman, grandsons, Matthew Porter and Gavin Chase, nieces, nephews and other extended family.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 14, at the Smyrna First United Methodist Church with a reception to follow in the Welcome Center.
