Southern Adventist University’s School of Music invites the community to its last performances of this school year on April 26 at 7:30 p.m. and April 28 at 4 p.m. Both events will be held in the Collegedale Church of Seventh-day Adventists, 4829 College Dr. East in Collegedale.
The program for both events will combine the school’s chorale ensembles and the Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Gennevieve Brown-Kibble and Laurie Redmer Minner to present “Music for Royalty.” All of the selections, including “Coronation Anthem No. 2 (Zadok the Priest)” by George Frederick Handel, “I Was Glad” by Hubert H. Parry, and “The Hundredth Psalm” by Ralph Vaughn Williams, were all written for royal occasions such as coronations.
Both events are free and open to the public.
