Police Say Mother Called Her Son To Come After Man Who Cursed Her At Circle K

Police said a woman called her son to come after a man who had cursed her on Friday night at the Circle K on Shallowford Road.

Leonard Myree, 47, wound up being shot in the chest and transported to the hospital.

Adrienne Douglas, 48, of 925 Shallowford Road, has been charged with attempted first-degree murder and aggravated assault.

Police said the victim said he had gotten into an argument with Ms. Douglas as the gas station. He said when the argument became heated he said he was going to call police, while Ms. Douglas indicated she was going to call someone to the scene.

Myree said before police got there an SUV pulled up to his vehicle and asked if he had called Ms. Douglas a b----. The man proceeded to brandish a firearm and fire a shot.

Police said the incident was caught on audio and video. Investigators were able to determine that Ms. Douglas called her son. Ms. Douglas can be heard describing exactly where Myree could be found.

After observing the video, investigators prepared a photo lineup that included the son. The victim picked him out of the lineup.

Police said the son is a convicted felon.
