Friederike Simmons
Friederike “Fritzi” Maria Simmons, 91, was born in Vienna, Austria and passed away on April 16, 2018.
She worked for Radio Austria where she met her husband, Wesley. Fritzi was a member of East Ridge Church of Christ. She loved her dog, Bailey and being amongst family. Fritzi enjoyed crocheting, working outdoors, reading and playing games. She was very kind and enjoyed doing things for others.
She was preceded in death by her son, Charles W. Simmons; husband, Wesley Napoleon Simmons; brother, Karl Gross; sister, Elfriede Bors; parents, Josef and Auguste Gross.
She is survived by her children, Richard G. (Teresa) Simmons, Irene Roberson and Donald K. Simmons; grandchildren, Lainie Simmons, Lauren Brady, Casey Waters and Taylor Simmons; great-grandchildren, Evelyn Brady, Daniel Brady and Eleanor Brady; and sister, Gertrude Spiegelhofer.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 19, from 6-8 p.m. at Chattanooga Funeral Home, North Chapel.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 20, at 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home with Minister Charles Cochran officiating. Interment will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
