Alton Park Street Fest And Clean Up Set For This Saturday

  • Wednesday, April 18, 2018
Chattanooga Mayor Andy Berke and District 7 Councilman Erskine Oglesby are teaming up with multiple City of Chattanooga departments for the inaugural Alton Park Street Fest & Clean Up on Saturday.

“The purpose of this event is to empower District 7 constituents and the surrounding communities to take part in the revitalization of their neighborhood,” said Councilman Oglesby. “This will become an annual event of giving back to the community and having fun while helping to spur economic development and investment in this area.”

The day will begin with the neighborhood clean up from 11 a.m.-1 p.m along Fagan Street, between East 38th Street and Workman Road.
Parking is available at Christian Fellowship Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 3709 Seminary St.

Fagan Street will be closed between East 38th Street and Workman Road from 10 a.m.-1 p.m.

“This weekend gives community members the opportunity to create a place they want to be,” said Mayor Berke. “Through collaboration with their neighbors and city services and departments they can design a space that is utilized for years to come.”

The cleanup will be immediately followed by a community festival at Southside Community Park, 3501 Central Ave., from 1-4 p.m., with food provided by Chattanooga Police Department and area food trucks, entertainment from local artists and Jazzanooga and activities for community members of all ages.
