Newell, Mary "Kathryn"

Mary “Kathryn” Newell, 87, of Rossville, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, April 17, 2018.  Kathryn was a longtime resident of Rossville and a member of Parkway Baptist.  She was born 1930, in Ider, Al. to the late Hubert and Bertie Tumlin.  Kathryn enjoyed traveling, spending time with friends and family and daily lunches with special friends.   She was a special lady with a life well lived, and was loved very much by her husband, sons and grandchildren. 

Kathryn is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, James B. Newell; brother, Lloyd Tumlin; and sister, Faye Wilson.

Survivors are sons, LeBron (Joyce) Newell, of East Ridge and Chris (Julie) Newell, of Rock Spring; sister, Lonnie Lyon, of Ringgold; grandchildren, Phillip Newell, Jordan Newell, Vance Newell, Jessica Silvers and Jeremy Newell; and great-grandchildren Braylee Newell and Knox Silvers. 

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Lakewood Memory Gardens, South.  A Celebration of Life service will take place Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Parkway Baptist.
