Ovetta Owens
Ovetta “Ms. Dit” Owens, 93, departed this earthly life on Wednesday, April 18, 2018, in a local hospital.
Survivors include her husband, Luther Owens, Jr.; daughter, Emily Southers; son, James Owens; devoted granddaughter and caregiver, Cather “Cookie” Coleman; devoted grandsons, Rodney Southers (Juanyale), Brandon Owens, and James Ballard; a host of other relatives and friends.
She will lie in state on Wednesday, April 25, after noon. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 26, at 11 a.m. in the chapel with Reverend Delois Nelson officiating and Reverend Tarel McClurkin as eulogist. Interment will be in National Cemetery.
