Citron et Sel Opening Near Westin Hotel; Brew Market And Beer Garden Makes Debut

  • Thursday, April 19, 2018

Citron et Sel, 212 West 8th St,. is a Spanish influenced restaurant and bar that is owned by the Defoor brothers, owners of the Westin Hotel. It is part of the West Village development that is being created around the new hotel. It will seat about 60 people. Opening is planned for April 30.

The Brew Market and Beer Garden, 1510 Riverside Dr., was given both a consumer and carry-out license by the City Beer Board on Thursday. Christopher Calhoun, who also owns the Tap House on St. Elmo Avenue, termed this business as a home brew store. Supplies for brewing will be sold and the customers will be taught the right way to make beer. A beer garden will be behind the building where beer can be consumed on the premises.

Residence Inn, 2340 Center St. was given a consumer beer license that was needed due to an ownership change of the hotel. Beer is served at the complimentary social that is held three nights a week at the motel. Alcohol will also be available for the conference center where it will be sold at a cash bar.

Hutton & Smith Brewing Company, 431 E. ML King Blvd, Suite 120, received a new beer permit because the business has expanded their seating area by taking over an adjoining space.
