Azilee Goodwin
Azilee W. Goodwin, 90, of Chattanooga, passed away on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at her residence.
She was a faithful member of First Corinthians Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Goodwin, Sr.; parents, Burl and Laura Watkins; grandparents, Dank and Leola Douglas; sons, Jerry Goodwin, Jessie Goodwin, and John Goodwin; brother, James Watkins; sisters, Beulah Watkins, Lorean Fletcher, Katherine Kirk, and Mary L. Dissmo.
Survivors include her sons, Charlie Goodwin, Jr., Clarence Goodwin, both of Chattanooga, and Robert Goodwin of Atlanta, GA; daughters, Barbara Goodwin of Chattanooga and Rosa Goodwin of Atlanta, GA; 60 grandchildren; 65 great-grandchildren; 40 great-great grandchildren; brothers, Willie Watkins of Detroit, MI, Burl Watkins of Decatur, AL, Peter James Bates, Curtis Bates, both of Chattanooga, and Frank O. Bates of Chicago, IL; sisters, Carolyn Smith of Detroit, MI, Annie Watkins of Decatur, AL, Barbara Bates of Chattanooga, Earlene Bates of Hillsboro, AL, and Lee Ellen Moore of Sheffield, AL; aunt, Clara Deerworth of Sheffield; her pets, Regina Austin and Latasha McColley; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends.
She will lie in state on Wednesday, April 4, after 10:30 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home, with the funeral to follow at noon in the chapel, with Reverend J.W. Strickland as the eulogist.
Burial will be in Lakewood Memory Gardens, East.
