Mary Lou Frances Marcus, age 85, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Thursday morning, April 19, 2018 at her home. 

She was born Nov. 13, 1932 in Dekalb County, Al, a daughter of the late Mancel and Ester Mae Bailey. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Carl E. Marcus; brother, Louie Traffansted; and sisters, Lorine Castello and Clara Bell Burns. 

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Louie and Amy Marcus, Dennis and Darlene Marcus of Dalton, Jerome and Linda Burns of Chatsworth; grandson, Daniel James Marcus; sisters, Riney Mae Gribble of Dalton, Beatrice Gribble of Tunnel Hill; and nieces and nephews. 

A service to celebrate the life of Mary Lou Frances Marcus will be held Saturday, April 21, at 5 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Wayne Marcus and Reverend Bruce Edwards officiating. She will be laid to rest at the United Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5-9 p.m. on Friday.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Wayne and Carolyn Farlett for all their support.
