McCallie Ties MBA; CCS, Baylor Earn Soccer Wins

In three Division II soccer games, CCS and Baylor earned shutouts and McCallie tied MBA 1-1. 


CCS 1 NOTRE DAME 0 - CCS traveled to Notre Dame for a big region match up with the Irish.  CCS's Mack Erickson buried a long free kick with 17 minutes left in the game that proved to be the game winner. 

CCS keeper Gaines Tallent earned the shutout in the goal.  CCS plays Boyd-Buchanan for the regular season region championship on Monday. 

BAYLOR 7 LIPSCOMB ACADEMY 0 - Matheus Maia had two goals in the Red Raiders 7-0 win over Lipscomb Academy on Friday.  Also scoring for Baylor were Keegan Weekley, Patrick Urey, John Musick, Mac Jett and Kevin Ho.  Baylor led 5-0 at the half. 

Eemeli Makela had two assists.  Musick and Maia had one assist.  Christian Stophel and Ethan Nunes also had an assist.  Henry Hooks, Mats Pokela and Charlie Hooks combined for five saves. Baylor improves to 10-1-3 overall and 2-0-1 on the season.

MCCALLIE 1 MBA 1
- McCallie tied MBA on Friday night with Ben Brock scoring a first half goal off an assist from Thomas Priest.  MBA scored in the second half to earn a 1-1 region soccer tie. 
McCallie will host Ensworth on Saturday for another region game.
