Georgella Greene, 83, of Chattanooga, passed away on Friday, April 20, 2018.

She was a lifelong member of Rose of Sharon Baptist Church. She retired after 20 years from the City of Chattanooga as a Recreation Center director.  Her longest tenure was at Carver Recreation Center, where she touched many lives. 
 
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 65 years, Thomas Greene, Sr.; parents, George and Romania Martin; brothers, Spencer, and John Martin; son-in-law, Aaron Ross, Sr; great- grandson, Thomas Melvin Ruffin, III; brothers-in-law, James, Andrew, Harold, Curtis, Marcellus, and Amos Greene.
 
Survivors include her daughter, Shelia Green Ross; sons, Thomas (Rose), George (Bonnie), Larry (Gwen), Jerry and John (Shirley) Greene; sisters, Phyllis White and Saturah Martin; 13 grandchildren; 12 great- grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
 
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, April 27, in the chapel. Interment will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
 
The body will lie in state after noon on Thursday, April 26, with visitation from 6–7 p.m. at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.
