Cambridge Square And Collegedale Markets Open This Weekend

The Cambridge Square Market will be open Friday from 6-9 p.m. and is now open weekly for the 2018 season. Each Friday will have live music and dancing on the square.

This Friday's entertainment will be Martin Rodriquez, coming from Nashville. Dozens of local artisans will be on hand selling locally made foods, arts and crafts.  

New this season, the Collegedale Market will be open for three kick-off weekends and then permanently move to a Wednesday afternoon time. The weekends will be April 67, 13-14 and 21-22.

The weekends will boast live music entertainment, local foods, arts and crafts and food trucks. Music entertainment this weekend will be Dana Rogers on Saturday from 12:30-3 p.m. and Amber Fults on Sunday from 12:30-2 p.m.

Restaurant Planned In Long-Abandoned House On Willow Street

A restaurant is being planned in a long-abandoned house on Willow Street. Matthew Ballard said he bought the house at 1302 Watkins in 2016 at an IRS tax sale. The City Council on Tuesday night approved UGC zoning for the property so the restaurant operation can go forward.
