Victoria Smith Joins Office Of County Public Defender

Honoring the Sacrifice Foundation announced that Victoria Smith (Tori) passed the Tennessee Bar Examination. Judge Barry Steelman administered the oath on Monday authorizing her to practice law in the state of Tennessee.

While in her first year at Michigan State College of Law, Ms. Smith learned that her husband Andrew had been struck by an IED while on patrol in Afghanistan. She spent two years by his side at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center before returning home to Tennessee where she completed her law degree at Lincoln Memorial University Duncan School of Law in Knoxville. 

Her journey culminated with the passage of the Tennessee Bar Examination earlier this month. She has accepted a position with the Office of the Hamilton County Public Defender.

Ms. Smith is a founding board member of the Honoring the Sacrifice Foundation which formed in 2013 to provided assistance to severely wounded service members and their families.
