East Ridge Recreation Director, Sports Writer And Television Personality Stump Martin Passes Away

Longtime sports enthusiast and coach Stump Martin, 64, has passed away.

He was currently the director of Parks and Recreation in East Ridge. Prior to that, he served as the director of parks and recreation for the city of Rossville, Ga. Prior to that position, he was a reporter/sports writer for the Chattanooga News-Free Press for 20 years, hosted regular sport talk shows on ESPN radio, served as managing editor for Tennessee Football Magazine, served as sports editor for the Catoosa County News and hosted the “Stump on Sports” TV show.

The Stump on Sports Facebook page said, "It is with great sadness that we at Stump On Sports report that our boss, friend and mentor, Marvin “Stump” Martin has passed away. Please keep Deb and his family in your thoughts."
