Former Moc Lewis-Harris Signs With Giants

  • Monday, May 14, 2018
Former University of Tennessee at Chattanooga defensive back Chris Lewis-Harris (’11) signed with the New Yorks Giants over the weekend.  Lewis-Harris has played in 33 games in five NFL seasons with the Bengals and Ravens.  He was last on the Broncos roster to start the 2017 season.

Lewis-Harris was an All-Southern Conference standout for the Mocs from 2008-11.  He played in 44 games with 38 starts, posting 183 tackles and five interceptions in his career.

“Congratulations to Chris Lewis-Harris on signing with the NY Giants,” stated UTC head coach Tom Arth.
“The National Football League is about as cold blooded of a business as there is and to even make it to that level, let alone to stay in the game as long as Chris has, is an incredible testament to his determination and perseverance.

“Chris will be an excellent mentor to Tae as both are outstanding examples of what happens when talent meets character.”

He signed as an undrafted free agent with the Bengals in 2012 and played in 19 games over the next four years.  In 2016, he saw action 14 games, seven with Cincinnati and seven in Baltimore.

The Mocs now have a school-record 10 individuals affiliated with an NFL team.  Lewis-Harris joins Tae Davis with the Giants, while C.J. Board ('16 - Brown), Keionta Davis ('16 – Patriots), Corey Levin ('16 – Titans) and Buster Skrine ('10 – Jets) are also under contract.

There are four other Mocs who are participating in rookie camps this week, including Alejandro Bennifield (’17 – Saints), Dale Warren ('17 – Bills), Lucas Webb ('17 – Bills) and Josh Cardiello ('17 – Buccaneers).
