Bessie Lee Coleman, 69, of Chattanooga, passed away on Tuesday, May 8, 2018, in a local health care facility. 

She was a 1968 graduate of Howard High School. Bessie was employed by the Hamilton County Department of Education and was a faithful member of Alton Park Church of Christ. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sylvester and Addie Johnson; son, Ronald Coleman, Jr.; twin sister, Mattie Lee Coleman; nephew, Kenneth Coleman; and sister-in-law, Elsie Wilson. 

Survivors include her daughter, Darnita Coleman; three grandchildren, Alexis Coleman, Laquesha Wood, and Tyla Coleman, all of Chattanooga; sisters, Daisy Wilson of Chattanooga, Thelma Forbes of Beach Park, IL, and Cora Washington of Jamaica, NY; brothers, Nathan Wilson of Cleveland, OH and Devasco (Sandra) Wilson of Memphis, TN; special daughter, Lisa Williams of Chattanooga; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends. 

She will lie in state on Thursday, May 17, after 12:30 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. 

Funeral services will be on Friday, May 18, at noon in the chapel with Brother Phillip Henderson as the eulogist. Burial will be in Forest Hills Cemetery.

Driver Of Silverado Dies In Early Morning Wreck On Champion Road
