Pillowcase Factory Benefits Ryan’s Case For Smiles

  • Friday, May 18, 2018

Creative Discovery Museum is partnering with the Ryan's Case for Smiles to assemble 100 pillowcases on Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. All pillowcases will be donated to the Ryan's Case for Smiles Nashville chapter.

Ryan's Case for Smiles gives the pillowcases to children undergoing hospital treatment for serious illnesses. The whimsical pillowcases give children a much needed emotional boost and "help kids feel better to heal better.”

This event allows Museum guests to participate in any of the assembly line stations and help create a fun, colorful pillowcase made from child friendly prints. Museum staff and local volunteers from Modern Quilt Guild, SensaCalm and Old Navy at the Terrace will facilitate each of the assembly line stations. SensaCalm will also donate all of the fabric used during the Pillowcase Factory.

Through the process, children and their caregivers will learn about breaking a large project into smaller steps to accomplish a goal as quickly as possible.

Creative Discovery Museum is at 321 Chestnut St.  Visit www.cdmfun.org for more information.
