A teen whose actions led to a stampede at Hamilton Place Mall in February is being sought by police after trespassing at Emma Wheeler Homes and cutting off his ankle monitor.

Police said in the incident last Wednesday they found a fully loaded gun and ammunition under the passenger seat of the vehicle being driven by David Ballard, 18.

Police said Ballard went on Facebook declaring that it was his gun.

He is being sought for unlawful possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm with intent to go armed, evading arrest, criminal trespassing and resisting arrest.

Ballard was given two years probation after pleading guilty to the mall incident in which he pulled a gun, sending shoppers into panic mode.

He has been banned from Hamilton Place Mall.

Authorities said, "If you have seen David Ballard or know where he is, please call Chattanooga Police at 423-698-2525 or submit tips through the Chattanooga PD Mobile App."
