Robert Seib
Robert Eugene Seib, 81, of Chattanooga, on Tuesday, May 22, 2018, went to his heavenly home.
Born on Jan. 16, 1937, in Erie, Pa., to Arthur and Frances Seib, Bob was the youngest of eight children. He served in the US Army in Germany during the Korean War. One of the most memorable experiences he had was visiting the concentration camps in Germany.
Returning home to Erie, he married Nancy Jude and they raised a family of five, Robert, Velma, Mark, Joe and Tammy. Bob went to work at EMI Corporation in the foundry and was employed there until 1998. Nancy passed away in 1969.
In 1971 Bob married Blanche Schermerhorn Kramer and became father to her son, James. Their family grew when Andrew and Daniel were born. Blanche died suddenly in 1990.
In 1992, Bob married Merrillyn Wilson, and her daughter, Leta joined the family.
In 1999, they moved to Dundee, Fl., where he was active at Dundee Methodist Church and Heart of Florida Emmaus. In 2016, as his health began declining, they moved to Chattanooga TN.
Bob loved to work jigsaw puzzles and fixing things around the house, His children were very important to him and he often called them several times each week.
Survivors are his wife, Merrillyn, children, Tammy Sanden of Union City, Pa., Andrew Seib of Erie, Leta Mussett of Chattanooga, and his sister, Dorothy Burreall of Phoenix, Az., eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be on Sunday, June 3, at 2 p.m. at the Anglican Church of the Redeemer, McBrien Road, Chattanooga. Burial will be sometime later in June in Wattsburg, Pa.
