Retired From DuPont After 27 Years

Jo Ann Grant, 83, of Soddy Daisy died on Thursday, May 24, 2018.

She was born April 15, 1935, in Knoxville, to the late Frank and Helen Cross.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Sam Tipton and Leroy Cameron; brother, Bill Cross and a granddaughter, Kristi Tipton.  

She was a member of Christ Family Church and a former member of Delashmitt Road Baptist Church. She was retired from the time office at DuPont after 27 years of service. She was a member of the DuPont Retirees Club. Mrs. Grant was a graduate of Central High School.

Survivors include her children, Don (Marlene) Tipton,  Lisa Tipton, and Darin (Teresa) Tipton; grandchildren, Lindsay (Cody) Clark, Lacey (John) Tozier, Ashton Tipton, Seth (Meghann) Tipton, Abigail Tipton, Brittany (Bubba) Haney; six great-grandchildren; brothers, Butch (Diane) Cross, and Mickey (Carol) Cross; sister, Jan Woodall.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 26, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Brother Ronnie Smith and Brother Calvin Nunley officiating. Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, and from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday.
