Condon Smith
Condon Thomas Smith passed away at the age of 85 on May 23, 2018, at Soddy Daisy Healthcare Center from complications of Parkinson’s Disease.
Condon was born in Chattanooga, on Oct. 1, 1932, to Fred and Jennie Smith.
After graduation from Chattanooga High School in 1950 he earned a degree in Industrial Engineering from UC (UTC).
He began his career at Tennessee Valley Authority in 1956 and remained there until his retirement in 1994.
Condon was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Jennie Smith, and sisters, Mary Jane Collins and Martha Jo Hartline.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Sylvia Broyles Smith; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Dan Crutcher of Birmingham; son and daughter-in-law Tate and Kristi Smith of Phenix City, Al.; grandchildren: Katherine and Mike Motta of Philadelphia; William Crutcher of Florence, Ms.; and Ben Smith of Phenix City, Al.; great-granddaughter, Zoey Motta of Philadelphia; and niece, Carol (Carldon) Chandler of Ringgold.
Condon was a member of Brainerd Baptist Church, Chattanooga.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 26, from 12–2 p.m. at Hamilton Funeral Home.
A graveside services will be private, for family only.
The family would like to thank the caregivers and staff at Soddy-Daisy Healthcare for their kind and loving care of Condon.
