The Bethlehem Center’s sports program, overseen by Demetrius Morgan, will start a basketball league for preschoolers who will participate in a summer gymboree. The league will be held June 9 - July 21 at the Bethlehem Center, 200 W 38th St.
“This matters because we always start helping kids in elementary and middle school,” said Mr. Morgan, director of Youth Development and Sports for the Bethlehem Center. “If we get to them earlier, we can start impacting them sooner. And kids want to feel a part of something.”
Kids will play in six games, including a gymboree. Practice days and times will be determined. Applicable ages are three and four year old. The cost is $50 per child and includes a uniform, a bag, a water bottle and an end of the year banquet with a trophy. Registration is open until Friday, June 1. Limited scholarships are available.
