Boomers, Shakers And Beyond Has Inside/Out Cookout June 20

Boomers, Shakers and Beyond will hold their Second Annual Inside/Out Cookout on June 20 at 6 p.m. at Christ UMC.

There will be barbecue and all the fixings, music by Bill Faulkner, Gary Hicks and Friends and games for everyone. 

During this event the group will raise money for the Alzheimer’s Association’s Longest Day Fundraiser. Tickets are $10. 

The program will be held in the Multipurpose room at Christ UMC at 8645 East Brainerd Road (across from Publix). Tickets are available at the CUMC office during regular business hours. Tickets can also be purchased on Sunday at the information desk at CUMC.

Boomers, Shakers, and Beyond is a community enrichment program designed for adults 50 + focusing on mind, body, and spirit. The program is designed for learning new things, enhancing old skills, exchanging thoughts on numerous topics, meeting new people, participating in community service projects, and in general having a great time, said officials.

Person Shot And Killed On Cotter Road; Shooter Taken Into Custody

One person was shot and killed on Cotter Road on Saturday night. The Sheriff's Office said the shooter was taken into custody It happened in the 1800 block of Cotter Road. Cotter Road is in Hixson. (click for more)

Wall Collapses At Home On Bradford Place Drive

Chattanooga firefighters were dispatched to a structural collapse call shortly after  10 a.m. on Saturday .   When firefighters arrived at 307 Bradford Place Drive, a large hole could be seen on one side of the house.
