A woman who was charged two years ago with willful abuse or neglect of an impaired adult has been taken into custody after a traffic stop.

Erica Watson, 55, was formerly a caregiver for a woman at Mary Walker Place.

An officer was called to that location on June 16, 2016. He found an elderly woman naked and on the floor with roaches crawling all over her. The report says she had apparently fallen and hurt her knee.

The officer said he contacted Ms.

Watson and she "was indifferent about leaving work to look after her grandson," who was at the same Mary Walker Place address.

The home was described as  "extremely unsanitary and unlivable. The home had a strong smell of wine and trash throughout the house. The area the victim was sleeping was extremely soiled."

The Code Enforcement Department was notified and later condemned the home.

Ms. Watson was stopped due to a broken tail light.
