Smith, Alvena Kilgore Smith (Whitwell)

Alvena Kilgore Smith, 71, of Whitwell, passed away Wednesday, June 13, 2018.  Mrs. Smith was a member of Fairview Union Church.  

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard D. Smith; parents, Lonnie and Eunice Kilgore; brother, W. A. Kilgore; sister, Edna Joyce Bowman.  

Those left to cherish her memories are two sons, Buster Smith and Buddy Smith, of Whitwell; 
companion of 23 years, Tom Williams; brothers, James L. Kilgore and George Kilgore; sister, Wanda Bracken; grandchildren, Joey Smith, Jacob Smith, Nathan Smith and Timmy Smith; great-grandchildren, Eli Smith, Alex Smith, Alexis Smith, Addison Anderson, Kylee Lynn Smith, William Clay Smith and Connor Ian Smith; and several nieces, nephews and a host of friends. 

Family will receive friends from 2-8 p.m. Thursday, June 14 and  2-8 p.m. Friday, June 15. 

Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 16 in the funeral home chapel, with Rev. John Potts officiating.  Interment at Walden Cemetery.
