Two people are facing murder charges for supplying opiods that police said led to a death.

Monica Dunn, 29, and Wilmer Sherrard, 32, are charged with second-degree murder in the death of Dustin Lowrance.

On March 8, the body of the 29-year-old Lowrance was found inside a motel room at 2440 Williams St. The Hamilton County Medical Examiner's Office conducted the autopsy and determined the death to be the result of a toxic level of opioids.

CPD's Narcotics Unit opened an investigation and through extensive interviews and other investigative means it was determined that Ms. Dunn and Sherrard were both the opioid suppliers and present at the scene of the overdose.

Both are currently in custody on multiple unrelated charges and have other unrelated arrest warrants pending in Dade County and Walker County, Ga.
