U.S. Army Veteran Held Long Career In Automobile Painting And Body Repair Business

Jack D. Cobb, 70, of East Ridge, died peacefully June 17, 2018, after a brave fight against cancer.

Jack was a graduate of Red Bank High School and a veteran of the U.S. Army. His work career spanned several decades of self employment in the automobile painting and body repair business.  His companies were located in Chattanooga, Augusta, and West Palm Beach. His love for showing cars won him many awards over the years. Jack retired from the City of Chattanooga where he managed vehicle maintenance departments.

Jack is preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth Lowry Cobb Cox, his father, Jack Cobb, and stepfather, J. Lloyd Cox.

Survivors include his best friend and life partner, Jannett Blalock and their dog Tucker, brothers, David W. Cox (Trish), Daniel L. Cox (Terry), sister, Catherine Cox Peacock (Randy) and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 21, at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

His family will receive friends from 4–7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 20, at Hamilton Funeral Home.
