Judge David Campbell DAR Chapter Welcomes Madame State Regent Charlotte Reynolds

  • Monday, June 18, 2018

The DAR Judge David Campbell Chapter held their June 13th meeting at the Holiday Inn-Hamilton Place with Madame State Regent Mrs Charlotte Reynolds as their honored guest and spoke about the history of Flag Day.

During the social hour, the members and guests packed tote bags with personal hygiene items for homeless women. The 50 tote bags were made from two of the members, Charlotte Smalley and Bette Cook, and other women from their church.  The Chattanooga Community Kitchen will receive these tote bags.

The "Bee" quilts were made by Second Vice Regent Marie Wingate. First Vice Regent Susan Lindsey made the vases and other decorations. New members and officers were installed by Mrs Reynolds.

Immediately following the meeting, the members attended the flag raising ceremony for the Brainerd Missions Cemetery. Due to the rain, this event was held indoors at the Eastgate Town Mall at center stage.

Regent Stacy Kehoe introduced this year's guest speaker, Melissa Alley Woody, who is the vice president of Tourism Development of Cleveland/Bradley Chamber of Commerce. Ms. Woody spoke on 'Marking Special Places."
