Firefighters put out an attic fire at a residence at 803 Chestnut Wood Lane on Monday evening.
Dennis Thomason, deputy chief for the Tri-Community Fire Department, said, "We had a house fire this evening at 6:37 p.m. The first unit on the scene reported smoke showing from the roof. It took about 30 minutes to extinguish the fire in the attic and check for extension.
"There were no injuries and damages were about $10,000. The fire appears to be accidental and will be investigated by Tri Community Fire Department's fire marshal.
"We responded four engines and two ladders as well as some small vehicles. There were 27 firefighters. We cleared the scene around 9 p.m.
