Lon Jacobs
Lon Robert Jacobs, 61, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, departed this life, Tuesday June 19, 2018, having most courageously fought illness for many years.
Lon was born onJuly 21, 1956, in Terre Haute, In., the son of the late Alfred Jacobs and is survived by his mother, Mrs. Phyllis Sussman Schwarz.
Lonnie was so proud of his home and loved to decorate it with many unusual items that he collected. Lon and his brother Rick spent many hours collecting CD’s of his favorite classic rock bands. He was employed by Habitat International for 10 years and received the Peaceful Warriors Award from the President of the company. Lon had a quick sense of humor and expressed it in a book of jokes that he wrote. Lon was one of the first members of the Aim Center and every morning happily looked forward to being with his many friends there.
Lon is also survived by his brother, Eric (Rick) Joseph Jacobs, also of Chattanooga; uncle, Harlan (Margit) Sussman of Canton, Ohio, many dear cousins, and special friend, Izzie Frumin.
Graveside services will be on Wednesday, June 20, at 5:30 p.m. at B’nai Zion Cemetery, with Rabbi Susan Tendler officiating.
