Mary Irene Gilstrap Crowe, of Chickamauga, died Wednesday, June 20, 2018. Mrs. Crowe was born August 18, 1927, the daughter of Harrison (Harry) Luther and Jewel Elizabeth Holsomback Gilstrap.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Crowe was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Lee Crowe, Jr.; daughter, Marleen Davie Crowe; brother, Herman Otha Gilstrap (who died while serving our country during World War II); and sister, Bobbie Cavin.
Mrs. Crowe is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Carolyn Crowe of Chickamauga; daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Roger Sissom; and daughter, Karen Neal, both of Chattanooga. Mrs. Crowe is also survived by her granddaughters, Amy (Tracy) Wright, of Chickamauga and Jenny (Terry) Williams, of Ringgold; great-grandchildren, Maggie Caroline Williams, Terry Lee Williams, III (Ty), Molly Elizabeth Williams and Georgia Lou Wright. Survivors also include sister, Doris Callahan, of Hixson; nieces, Nancy (Hugh) Wilson, of LaFayette, Janet (Truman) Anderson and Donna Lewis, both of Hixson and Cindy (Bruce) Crumbliss, of Lookout Valley.
Mrs. Crowe loved and cherished her family and the Burning Bush Community. She was a member of the Burning Bush Baptist Church for over 40 years.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home chapel, with Dr. Terry Williams and Colin Crosen officiating.
The family will receive friends noon-2 p.m. Sunday at Heritage Funeral Home, Battlefield Parkway.
