Christopher Robinson, 46, was shot and killed early Friday morning in a home invasion.
On Saturday, 20-year-old Miles Hankins was charged in the murder.
The Chattanooga Police Department responded to the 2300 block of Hickory Valley Road at 1:26 a.m. on the report of a person who had been shot. Upon arrival, police were able to locate the resident of the home, Mr.
Robinson, suffering from a gunshot wound.
HCEMS arrived on scene; however, he had already succumbed to his injuries.
Investigators were able to determine that the suspect forcibly entered the residence and shot the victim.
On Friday at 10:10 p.m. Hankins was located by CPD Neighborhood Policing Officers and brought in for questioning by Violent Crimes Bureau Investigators.
He was subsequently charged with criminal homicide and especially aggravated robbery.
He was booked into the Hamilton County Jail on Saturday.
Calls into the CPD Homicide Tip Line contributed to the arrest of Hankins.
The victim was a graduate of Tyner High School and attended Chattanooga State Community College. He attended East 3rd Christ Church of Christ and Greater Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church.
