A woman told police that her ex-boyfriend tried to make her wreck on the freeway with her toddler in the vehicle.

Wayne Tyler Slaughter, 33, is charged with aggravated domestic assault and reckless endangerment.

The woman said Slaughter became irate and began yelling at her while she was giving him a ride to Marion County.

She said when they were coming around Moccasin Bend that he hit her in the side of the head, stunning her.

She said he later tried to jerk the wheel out of her hands to make her wreck.

The woman said she finally stopped on the interstate and told him to get out. She said instead he hit her in the face.

She said he finally left after she pulled off at Brown's Ferry Road.

Police said the woman had a severe laceration under her right eye.
