1885 Grill To Open 2nd Location At Cambridge Square

  • Friday, June 8, 2018

One of Chattanooga’s most beloved restaurant concepts, 1885 Grill, will bring its southern coastal fare to Ooltewah in 2019 when it opens a second location, 1885 Grill & Tavern, at Cambridge Square. Cambridge Square is a residential, retail, and commercial community located off I-75’s exit 11.

Co-owners Miguel Morales and Miguel De Jesus, whose culinary careers span 40 years, will be overseeing the design and operations of the Cambridge Square space, located in a new building on the development’s public square. 1885 Grill & Tavern will occupy two stories, with main dining located on the ground floor and a tavern style space on the upper level. Outdoor seating will be available on both levels, with the restaurant’s downstairs patio adjacent to a covered, open air plaza designed for entertaining visitors to the square. Construction is scheduled to begin in mid-summer this year, with a slated opening in summer 2019.

“1885 needs very little introduction,” said Jim Cheney, marketing director for Cambridge Square. “Their knowledge of the restaurant industry coupled with the exciting things they are doing in their kitchen will be a huge addition to our development and the Ooltewah community. We are thrilled to have them coming on board.”

1885 Grill & Tavern’s menu will offer an eclectic mix of fresh seafood, quality steaks and southern sides. From award-winning wings, to its signature shrimp and grits dish, 1885 Grill emphasizes locally sourced ingredients, making the restaurant one of Chattanooga’s favorite dining destinations. More information on the restaurant’s history, as well as the full menu, can be found at 1885grill.com

In addition to St. Elmo’s 1885 Grill, Miguel Morales and business partner Dustin Choate own Feed Co. Table & Tavern on the Southside, Tremont Tavern on the North Shore, and are completing construction on Parkway Pourhouse, which is set to open in the coming weeks on Riverfront Parkway.

“After many years with Carrabba’s Italian Grill at Hamilton Place, Miguel DeJesus and I are very excited to once again be closer to so many relationships that were built on this side of town,” said Mr. Morales. “We look forward to not only offering a wonderful place to dine and congregate with friends, but also supporting the community through grass root efforts.”
