A Star Party will be offered at Cloudland Canyon on July 28. It is sponsored by Cloudland Canyon State Park and conducted by the Barnard Astronomical Society.
Organizers said, "Come see the wonders of the night sky through our telescopes. Venus, Jupiter and Saturn will be visible.
We will also be identifying the summer constellations. As always, we will also be observing DSO's (Deep Sky Objects) like star clusters, nebulae and other galaxies like our own Milky Way.
It will take place at the starting point of the Disc Golf Course, from 8-10 p.m.
Astronomy programs are free to all. The usual parking fee at the park applies.
If the weather is “iffy” call 941 544-3420 after 6 p.m. that day for an update.
