MacGregor, Barbara Jean Howard

Barbara Jean Howard MacGregor, 86, passed away in Chattanooga on Saturday, July 14, 2018.  

She was a librarian in the Broward County School System for 15 years.  She was a graduate of Florida Southern College in Lakeland, FL, and a member of the Alpha Chi Omega sorority.  She loved crafting, making scrapbooks, and working on genealogy. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas MacGregor, in 2017, and parents, Jefferson Howard and Ida Drake Howard.

She is survived by three children – Karen MacGregor of Cleveland, Tn.; Tracy and husband Phillip Horwitz of Cary, N.C.; Susan and husband James Casey of Olive Branch, Ms.  Barbara has three grandchildren – Ashley Quintano, Tyler Horwitz, and Ben Casey -  and one great-grandchild, Kayla Quintano.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 18, in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Phillip Horwitz officiating.  Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 5-6 p.m. on Tuesday, July 17, at the funeral home.  

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
