BlueCross Recognized As One Of Forbes’ Best Employers For Women

  • Thursday, July 26, 2018

BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee has been identified by Forbes as one of the nation’s top employers for women.

BlueCross was ranked 30th out of 300 companies and is the highest-ranked Tennessee-based organization as well as the second-highest ranked insurance company on the inaugural list. The ranking was compiled by Forbes in partnership with research firm Statista, following a survey of 40,000 employees at companies with a minimum of 1,000 employees in the U.S. The survey was focused on topics relevant to women in the workplace in order to shed light on their experiences.

This designation is the third Forbes ranking earned by the company this year. In early 2018, BlueCross was recognized by Forbes as one of the country’s top employers for diversity. The insurer also earned a place on the global business media company’s list of America’s Best Places to Work.

“As a company whose workforce is 73 percent female, we fully understand the importance of supporting a culture that positively impacts the working lives of women,” said Karen Ward, senior vice president and chief human resources officer. “It’s exciting to see our ongoing commitment to diversity, inclusion and equity validated in this way.”
